LINKTIMER GUIDE

Expire a link after a set number of confirmed opens

Click-limited links stop redirecting after a defined audience size has intentionally continued to the destination. They are useful when access should be constrained by participation rather than only by a deadline.

What this option gives you

Precise audience cap

Choose the maximum confirmed opens allowed for the generated link.

Bot-resistant counting

Social previews do not consume the audience limit before people arrive.

Live account visibility

Eligible accounts can review the current count and aggregate link analytics.

Practical use cases

Limited registrations

Close a registration route after the intended number of participants opens it.

Small beta groups

Distribute access to a controlled testing group without leaving the campaign link active indefinitely.

Capped offers

Stop a promotional redirect after the planned number of confirmed visitors.

Classroom resources

Share a resource with a defined class or workshop group and retire the link afterward.

How it works

  1. Paste the target

Enter the page, form, or resource URL.

  2. Set the open limit

Choose the confirmed-open mode and enter the audience cap.

  3. Monitor and manage

Eligible account holders can review counts, pause, edit, export, or reactivate owned links.

Important limitation

The counter records confirmed redirects through LinkTimer. It does not measure what the visitor does after reaching the destination, and it cannot stop direct access to the original URL.

Frequently asked questions

Are repeated opens by the same person counted?

Each confirmed redirect is counted. LinkTimer's current aggregate analytics do not expose visitor identity.

What happens at the limit?

The link stops redirecting and displays the configured expiry message or fallback destination.

Can I change the limit later?

Eligible owners can increase the limit within their plan, or reset the counter when reactivating a link.

Is there a monthly account limit too?

Yes. Pro and Business access has a monthly confirmed-open allowance in addition to the per-link limit.

Authoritative external resources

These links provide additional context from the destination provider or recognized security resources. External sites are responsible for their own content and policies.
